沿革 / Background

1964年、ビル・ウォーカー宣教師によって民家も乏しい伊勢原の地に教会が建てられました。1966年にはポール・プラット宣教師によって最初の礼拝がもたれ、アメリカ人宣教師家族による福音の働きが始まりました。約55年前に建てられた教会は、今日まで地域の方々と共に歩んできました。

 

 

Bill Walker first built a church building here in 1964. Paul Pratt held the first worship service in 1966. Over the past 55 years, evangelism has continued among this modestly populated rural area.

 

The church continues to be loved and supported. Many people have been saved, many more are becoming ripe for the harvest.

 

On March 11, 2011, the Great East Japan Earthquake struck our nation. At that time, we all experienced helplessness and were reminded of the fragility of economic and material things. Japan continues to grow and change as a result. Children and young people especially are searching for real values. The gospel is needed more than ever.

これまで、アメリカからの学生や有志のボランティアを招き、交流会や集会を多く開催してきました。おとなだけでなく、こどもや青年を対象としたプログラムもおこなってきました。

Our Fir Tree Book Club has become an integral part of the lives of many families in our area over the past 20 years. Through most are not Christians, these mothers are enthusiastic about the project: "Let's build our church!" With their support and offerings, they aim to make this church an Isehara landmark. This is a powerful evangelistic opportunity.
